James Dunne @ The Mole Hole
Aug

James Dunne @ The Mole Hole

The Mole Hole Micro Pub, 17 High Street, Gravesend, DA11 0BA

James Dunne is one of music's most exciting and iconic new voices of Outlaw Country in the UK. Dunne is channelling the darker side of Country music, carrying on the torch from the weather, authentic and unapologetic artists such as Marty Robbins, Jimmy Martin, Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings. Embracing honest, authentic delivery behind a simple musical composition, Dunne delivers a raw truth in his musical storytelling, with an almost nonchalant performance style which completely captivates his audience when communicating his lyrics.

Within weeks of its official release back in May 2023, Dunne's debut EP 'Black Train' spent three weeks in the top thirty of the "Amazon Music Hot New Country Release" charts globally. The success of his EP lead to accolades from Maverick Magazine making Dunne their 'Spotlight Artist' with a full-page feature in the ten-year anniversary C2C Edition of the publication. HMV later endorsed Dunne as an 'Artist to Watch', he then went on to feature on the official Help for Heroes charity single as the guest veteran performing artist and secured invitations to perform live for the BBC as part of their 'In Session' series.

Fresh from his 2024 Country 2 Country (AEG Presents) and Black Deer (Holler Country) performances and 'too honest for some' stage shows, the lovable rouge's popularity has led to back-to-back bookings seeing out the year of 2024, including performing at corporate events for Triumph Motorcycles, Harley Davidson and ROCO Engineering.

‘It's a Gravesend Ting’

to 26 Aug

‘It's a Gravesend Ting’

Leos Red Lion, Crete Hall Rd, Gravesend, Kent DA11 9AA

A pilgrimage to celebrate, in a one off event, the decades of Gravesend's dance music lovers, of all era's and genres, alongside many of the major DJ's who were raised up by the demand from the town's people on the dance-floor for top tunes to groove their dancing feet too.

Plus raising a glass or two with the music to those that are beloved in memory, whose names will adorn the stage wall under bright lights on the night. All together once more on a wonderful August Bank Holiday Sunday..

As town's go Gravesend is as unique in the dance music world for its decades of DJs as some global cities are for the music they gave life to, like Chicago and House Music, New Orleans and Jazz, the Bronx and Hip Hop, Detroit and Philadelphia with Soul Music. Gravesend's people and it's DJ's started a Tsunami that literally rolled around the world. Something I have personally witnessed, as a Gravesend lad, from Bondi Beach to Honolulu, Hawaii.

To fully appreciated that statement you have to have lived, grown-up with, and danced amongst the extraordinary spirit called "Its A Gravesend Ting". Just ask Pocahontas, she is still there dancing on her podium in spirit with Gravesend being the perfect resting place for a Princess of people who loved to dance and sing too...

It's a true pilgrimage and tribute to the unique spirit of Gravesend's people, past and present. Limited tickets available to those that know and belong to that "ting"...

Indefinite Leave To Remain – A love letter to London in the words and music of the Pet Shop Boys

“It’s a great idea, thank you for doing it”Neil Tennant

Join the immortal and immoral Hersh Dagmarr as he deconstructs the songs of The Pet Shop Boys and transports them to the Weimar era with his pianist and arranger extraordinaire Karen Newby.

Hersh Dagmarr is a London-based Queer singer/songwriter and visual artist. His visceral inspiration from the grand Weimar Berlin era mixed with his own experience as a club kid from the noughties and the 2010s evolved into a unique blend of jazz, dance and electronic avant-pop with elements of cabaret mixed in. Karen Newby is a classically trained piano vocalist who performs in 5 star venues around the world. She has a flawless technique which is equally at home playing jazz standards, show tunes and chart hits.

“Hersh Dagmarr is a fabulous artist and a great singer! Check him out!”Mark Moore, S’Express

“Dagmarr evokes an unfettered and elegant decadence unfelt since Moulin Rouge”Matt Katz-Bohen, Blondie

“Oozing 1940s decadence, Dagmarr’s beguiling stage persona stikes an ironic tone that balances melodrama and whimsy to surprisingly satisfying effect.” –  Gavin Brock, Cabaret Scenes
