3D Animals - SEN workshop for children

St George’s Arts Centre, St George’s Shopping Centre, Gravesend

The National Autistic Society (Artrack), are pleased to be delivering a workshop for children with autism. 
Making animals from tubes, this is a college based workshop using feathers, paints, crayons and coloured and patterned papers. 
The workshop will take place in the gallery where the Artrack exhibition is on display.  So come along to see a display of artwork from talented autistic artists.

It is essential that Carer’s attend with the children taking part.  Please only purchase a ticket for the child taking part in the workshop.

Suited to ages 6 - 12 years

Photography and Videography may take place at any of our workshops/events. We will always make you aware before we take any photographs/videos, and if we intend to take shots other than completed artwork, backs of heads or hands, then we will always ask you to complete a permission form beforehand. Book Worm is livid that encyclopaedias give people so much knowledge, so decides to steal all the books from Mama G's library. Before the world can turn to chaos, Mama G vows to save the day by proving that books can help make the world a better place. Of course, she can't do it alone, and that's when she discovers the mysterious and wonderful Magic Bookmark...

Kids of all ages will love this storytelling show full of panto fun, original songs, and some of the finest picture books on the market!

The show has toured all over the UK and recently made its Off-Broadway debut at the SoHo Playhouse in New York.

Embracing the 'Circus of Life' theme, you will have the opportunity to make and decorate your own hat and tie including glow in the dark stickers and paints!

Join an exciting magical woodland adventure. Help Little Bear save the Christmas wishes and keep the Christmas magic alive. Presented by Play on Words Theatre & Gravesham Borough Council, Little Bear's Christmas Wish is a 50 minute interactive show created especially for children aged 3-6 years.

This is a promenade performance and patrons will be expected to move around the performance space during the show.

There will be a selection of pre-made stencils and stencil making equipment to accommodate all ages and abilities. Participants will have the opportunity to make up to 3 different decorations.

Halloween Portrait workshop

Join Artist, Jonny Dixon for this fun Halloween Workshop. Come and make a unique Halloween decoration for your home. We'll start by looking at some basics of creating cartoon characters and capturing different expressions. Then you'll create your own spooky cartoon portrait of your favourite Halloween creature or character to take home and scare the neighbours with on Halloween!

Join us in our Arts Cafe for our Family Halloween Party from 4pm - 6pm.

Come dressed in your spookiest Halloween outfit and join us for a spooktastic party!

Standard tickets are £5 for children and includes food, music and simple craft activities.

A limited number of upgraded tickets are available at £9pp which include everything in the standard ticket plus pumpkin carving.

Face painting will also be available on the day at an additional charge.

Tickets can only be purchased in person direct from the café, we suggest you book in advance.

All children taking part in the pumpkin carving will need to have a responsible adult with them.

Whether you want to create your own mini vampire, werewolf, gargoyle or Frankenstein, we'll start with design sketches then move on to turning ideas into spooky 3D reality. You'll be able to take your creation home to scare your neighbours with on Halloween!

Join in with creating spooky sound effects and playing with sensory objects to enhance the stories and imagination.

Suitable for ages 5 and under. All children must be supervised by an appropriate adult throughout the session.

Halloween Art workshops

St George’s Arts Centre, Unit 20, St George’s Shopping Centre, Gravesend

Join Artist, Gee Jay for a fun Halloween Art Workshop. Working with either canvas, cardboard or clay, participants will use acrylic markers to create their own spooky character or decorate a pumpkin.

Suitable for ages 10+

Workshops must be booked in advance.

Please note, all children aged 12 and under must be always accompanied by an appropriate adult. Adults do not need to book a ticket for the workshop if helping children only. We aim for our workshops to be as inclusive as possible and invite everyone to attend. However, if the participant has additional needs, please contact us in advance so that we can make our facilitators aware.

Please also note these sessions will take place in the main gallery space within the St George’s Arts Centre, as part of the Halloween exhibition week.

Photography and Videography may take place at any of our workshops/events for future advertising. We will always make you aware before we take any photographs, and if we intend to take shots other than completed artwork, backs of heads or hands, then we will always ask you to complete a permission form beforehand. Should you not wish to be photographed at all, please inform the member of staff.

We welcome good quality donations of paints, brushes, material, wood, clay, tape, paper, fixings, ink, ribbon and other arts and craft supplies.
