Isabel was born in Kunming, Yunnan, China, a city full of flowers and where every season is spring. Isabel started traveling with her mother when she was two years old, they went horse riding, they went to the top of the mountain to watch the stars, they climbed the snowy mountain together before she was four years old. These landscapes and experiences have helped influence her uniquely colourful works.
Isabel turned eight years old in January this year. She was a featured artist in the recent RA Young Artists' Summer Show 2021, as well as featuring the previous year with her artwork entitled 'People in Real Life', which she completed when she was only 5 years old. Her 2021 piece has also been selected for one month in the RA's 2023 calendar which will be available nationwide from galleries, WH Smith's and Waterstones.
In 2021, Isabel filmed an episode for the ‘Meet the Experts’ TV show which was aired on Channel 5 on Christmas Day, showcasing her artistic abilities, also featuring the acclaimed Welsh artist, Nathan Wyburn.
She was a winner in the Bowes Museum 'Regeneration' art competition. Her work 'Flowers of life' is currently being exhibited alongside Martin Kinnear's at the Regeneration exhibition at the Bowes Museum.
Isabel has been selected by a clothes manufacturer and carpet designer to have her pictures printed on various clothes and textiles, which are now available for sale and are selling well.
Following on from winning the Planet Satellite Art Competition in January 2022, her design has been etched onto the side of a satellite and is currently in space orbiting the earth.
In 2022, Isabel was also named Maidstone Artist of the year for her age group and recently had three large pieces exhibited in Maidstone Museum.
She was also selected by a large Chinese clothing store chain, ‘Mini Peace’ to paint a design to be used on 1.9m tall figures of the company mascot outside of their stores in China. She was given this opportunity ahead of many adult artists.
Isabel was also an age category winner in the Ferens Junior Open exhibition 2019.
She was a finalist in the Royal Mail Heroes stamp competition.
Isabel was granted and completed her very own exhibition in January 2020, when she was just 5 years old, displaying hundreds of works at the St Andrews Art Centre in Gravesend, Kent, after winning the prestigious 'Tony Larkin Award', the first time it has been awarded to a child. She is also the youngest ever member of the Gravesham Arts Group.
